Late again, late again…
Still inching along on Tom Derringer & the Sinister Statue. The end of the first draft is finally in sight, though it’s still off in the distance, and it’s rough enough that the second draft will take awhile.
Last time I mentioned a new story called “The Magic of the Holiday.” Alas, I haven’t done anything more on it yet. Instead I started another new story, working title “Hand Me Down,” that might turn into an entire YA novel if I’m not careful; it’s a fantasy story involving a wizard’s cat. I’m on page 7.
I’ve just received a proof copy of the trade paperback edition of the new short story collection Remembrance of Things to Come, and it looks good. An early proof had pagination problems, but this time I don’t see any issues, so it will be released March 1, 2026. It’s a Draft2Digital product, and may not be on Amazon immediately, but it should be available lots of other places, including Barnes & Noble, Kobo, Smashwords, etc.

In non-writing news, there’s nothing very special to report. Julie’s pretty completely recovered from her knee replacement. The Seattle Seahawks, our local pro football team, are going to the Super Bowl. The storms affecting much of the country haven’t touched our area; in fact, the last week or two has been lovely sunny weather (though chilly). I feel as if I really should say something about the political situation, but I don’t have anything to say that you can’t find said better elsewhere.
So let’s just leave it at that. I hope you’re all safe and warm and well.
